Best Dog Friendly Spots and Nature Trails in the Morristown Area

It can be challenging to find local spaces that are pet friendly, allowing you to spend your time with your pup while also doing the things you like. We have hand selected some of our favorite spaces, indoor and out to check out with your furry friends:

Indoor

Boonton Coffee Company | 602 Main St, Boonton, NJ 07005

In our opinion, the best coffee shop and hangout spot in Boonton. Both dogs and humans are welcome in equal measure, with baristas who are excited to make your furry friend a treat (on the house!)

Fun Fact! Both Hannah and Ayla have worked here – that’s actually how they met.

Burnt Mills Cider | 3540 US-206, Bedminster, NJ 07921

The coolest place to enjoy a crafted-on-site cider in a relaxed atmosphere. Inside there is a cozy 1,000 square foot tasting room with a bar, televisions and tables.

Jersey Girl Brewing | 426 Sand Shore Rd #1, Hackettstown, NJ 07840

Year round, there is an indoor sample room with plenty of room for everyone (and their dog!) to relax and sample craft beer.

Scranberry Coop | 2 Main St, Andover, NJ 07821

You will find a 10,000-square-foot antique, vintage and collectible shop with items that are constantly changing. April – November features a super cool flea market every first Sunday of the month. This is a fun place to explore!

Loantaka Brook Reservation | 468 South Street, Morris Township, NJ 07960

850 acres, with almost 10 miles of trails.

Lewis Morris County Park | 270 Mendham Rd, Morristown, NJ 07960

2,213 acres, crisscrossed by 25 miles of trails. 0.4 acre dog park reserved for your pups.

Fun Fact! Ayla had her first experience hiking with dogs at this park.

Hacklebarney State Park | 119 Hacklebarney Rd, Long Valley, NJ 07853

Nine hiking trails traverse a total of 5 miles in the northern portions of the 465-acre natural area and offer breathtaking views of the Black River.

Franklin Lakes Nature Preserve (G. Thomas Donch) | 1 Nature Preserve Way, Franklin Lakes, NJ 07417

The Franklin Lakes Nature Preserve is a 120-acre passive recreational facility featuring extensive hiking paths around a beautiful 75-acre lake.

Pyramid Mountain Natural Historic Area | 472 Boonton Avenue, Montville Township, NJ 07045

Over 1,600 acres of rugged trails, fields, forests, rock outcroppings, and wetlands.

Eagle Rock Reservation | Crest Dr, West Orange, NJ 07052

400+ acre park along the Watchung Mountains ridge line located between West Orange, Montclair and Verona. The 40 mile Lenape Trail (yellow blazes) skirts the eastern edge of the park.
