Hannah is a dedicated and hard-working individual who prides herself on going above and beyond for the people in her life. Her clients and their pups are no exception. She is dedicated to the cause and devotes herself to being the best at what she does. This is shown in her work across all platforms.
Hannah grew up around animals, dogs in particular. Her childhood best friend was a yellow lab named Angel. Angel would roam the town Hannah lived in for treats and pets, well known in the neighborhood. One day Angel came home pregnant, an experience Hannah carries with her to this day. She was home alone the day Angel went into labor. Angel dropped her first puppy onto Hannah’s lap after delivering. Hannah helped Angel deliver the rest of the litter and for the first 3 weeks of their lives, Hannah was the only one invited near them. Hannah, Angel’s most trusted confidant. At seven years old, this was a formative and bonding experience. She has always understood dogs and it’s been an easy and comfortable relationship.
Hannah’s journey to dog walking started when she unexpectedly adopted a pig in 2019. This new relationship thrusted Hannah into a life of animal devotion, but needless to say, it was challenging to find someone who could accommodate her new-found friend to the caliber she could. Always a go getter, Hannah was working as a practitioner in reiki and life coaching, while also working at a bakery. She wanted more, another side hustle, so a friend recommended Rover, the popular dog walking app that connects dog owner to dog caretakers. She fell in love with dog caretaking, realizing that it met all of her wants and needs. After her pig’s unfortunate passing, Hannah couldn’t bring herself to welcome another four-legged friend but instead, she found that watching friends’ pets was equally fulfilling.
For the past three years, dog caretaking and house sitting had been her main job, though Hannah dabbles in many other things (teaching meditation and serving currently). While dogs are her main focus, she will care take other animals in the house.
Hannah treats the dogs in her care the way she would any friend. Getting to know them through sniff and play, she stimulates them by talking to them & sharing whatever it is she is listening to in her headphones if they seem curious. She wants them to know what’s going on during her day. “The more [they] know, the more comfortable [they] are,” says Hannah. She’s already thinking out loud, so she participates in their curiosity. Hannah believes that life is best shared.
Hannah spends much of her time going out and finding people who are living their lives in ways that she would like to emulate. She listens to the podcasts of people she admires, surrounding herself with successful, hardworking and thoughtful people, those living the life that she would like to live. Hannah believes that we build each other up, teaching and surpassing, and then teaching and surpassing again, inspiring those who have previously been your teacher.
She is an avid reader and lifelong learner. Health and fitness are important to Hannah, meditation, Pilates and weightlifting being a big focus for her. The endorphins she gets from these activities are important to her, and of course she spends a lot of time walking and hiking with the pups in her care. Intentional activities with friends, including crafting, yoga, and movie nights are of utmost importance to Hannah.
I met Hannah nearly two years ago now. She has been my friend, co-worker, and role model, with laughter and energy that is infectious to be around. She is an outgoing and confident woman who knows what she wants and has a plan to get there. She is living life in color, bringing friends and animals alike into her fold. Reach out, maybe she could be Your Dog’s Best Friend.
“It is my biggest honor to be entrusted with the care of such beloved members of the family. I know what it’s like to treat your pet like your child and it is my mission and passion to love and care for them in a way that brings peace of mind to all of my clients.”
